Getting my life back

Around two years ago, I tweeted the Phonak Twitter account with a comment saying, " @Phonak, Your CROS hearing aids gave me back my life. Thank you!" It was a genuine and heartfelt message.

At the time, Phonak was looking to set up a community blog. Their Social Media Manager saw that I was a writer and a regular contributor the The Limping Chicken and invited me to become a blogger for Open Ears, writing about living with hearing loss. And so started my relationship with Phonak - the company whose product had given me back my life and saved me from needing an implant and the surgery that involves.

Two years on, and I was commissioned by Phonak to do the copywriting for two leaflets, the first, a product brochure for the new CROS II and the second, a leaflet for people new to single-sided deafness.

This has been such a rewarding project and I hope the leaflets help other people with single-sided deafness to discover CROS and avoid surgery.

Please note: Angie Aspinall is available for copywriting, journalistic assignments, and event speaking on the topics of hearing loss and living with an acquired disability. To discuss a project or invitation to speak, please email Angie.
