Why choose us?
We are award-winning deafened entrepreneurs with backgrounds in training, hospitality, travel, tourism, marketing, and event management. As trainers go, we're unique: we’re the first UK company owned by deafened people to specialises in training specifically for the hospitality industry with regard to meeting the access needs of people with acquired hearing loss.
Our sessions are not traditional 'deaf awareness' training courses: our programmes are specifically tailored to the hospitality sector and focus on the aspects of communicating with people with acquired hearing loss in relation to accessing hotels, spas, guest accommodation, visitor attractions and conference venues. Our training focuses on the needs of people who use hearing devices and lipreading (as opposed to BSL) to communicate and on the elements of 'communication', 'safety' and 'customer care' which relate to people with acquired hearing loss. We also share tips and communication strategies, whilst offering an insight into the impact of hearing loss on the individual.
In the sessions, we will explore:
-
communication
-
safety
-
customer care
-
information
-
facilities
-
legislation
-
equipment
-
environmental factors
-
policies and procedures
-
marketing
