Fire safety and deaf guests - top tips for hoteliers
At Access Solutions, we're passionate about the safety of deaf people and people with hearing loss whilst staying away from home and we were delighted to be able to raise awareness of some serious issues via some training we recently delivered for Visit England.
Visit England commissioned the consortium, Access Unlimited to design and deliver their Acces for All training programme in seven destinations across the country. Access Unlimited is made up of Visits Unlimited, The Accessible Training Company and Access Solutions.
The training we developed included presentations, group work, discussions and it also featured the personal experiences of the trainers in relation to access and the hospitality industry.
In the video below, I talked about my experience of hearing loss and my access needs in relation to staying in hotels. The example I give about the hotel and the saga I had trying to book equipment in advance is what gave me the inspiration for www.hearinglossfriendly.com and what ultimately led to Julie and I developing Access Solutions. Please watch the video, and share the link with others.
Find out more about the relevant legislation and equipment here on our websitte and feel free to contact us for more information.
If you would like Julie or I to speak at an event, deliver a seminar or training session, please email us: info@accesssolutions.info.
