Derby house fire: dog tried to save partially deaf owner

BBC News report: "Relatives of a partially deaf man who died because of a house fire believe his dog tried in vain to save him by waking him up. Don Wilson, 76, was found upstairs next to his collie dog, Max, who was also overcome by smoke and died. The fire is believed to have been caused by an unguarded open fire in Mr Wilson's bedroom in Holtlands Drive, Alvaston, Derby."
