Fire kills 28 deaf children
"A fire in a boarding school for the deaf in southern Russia killed 28 children and seriously injured 17 Thursday, as rescuers had to race from bed to bed to individually awake students who could not hear alarms. "Firefighters saved 138 people in the two-story Republican School for Deaf Children. Many survived only after being thrown from second-story windows onto mattresses and other bedding used to break their fall, teacher Marzhanat Aliyeva said." Source: CBS News
